There were two reasons drawing us to Adelaide in April this year – the Dale Chihuly exhibition at the Adelaide Botanic Garden, and Gather Round, the AFL’s festival of football which happened to coincide. So we set off from Sydney to drive across the country, stopping frequently on our way there and back to check out the sights, especially silo art and street art.
So far I have only blogged about our overseas travels, but it’s about time I wrote some posts about things to do and see much closer to home. So here goes …
Day 1 of the road trip was a short one. We left Sydney around midday and headed to Wagga Wagga, with only a brief stop in Marulan.

Marulan

Marulan is the only town in the world that is situated on the 150th meridian. This means that at the equinox the sun rises and sets at exactly 6am and 6pm there. There’s a memorial to celebrate this claim to fame. When we visited it was behind a fence, so possibly they are planning to restore or upgrade?
