A very quick post today – but I have included photos of information panels at each site for anyone who is curious.
Frank Lloyd Wright
We visited a school designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, in his typical style.
Gotoku-ji
Gotoku-ji is a Buddhist temple dedicated to cats. It is the origin of the famous Japanese “lucky cat”.
Setagaya Hachiman
We popped into a nearby Shinto Shrine called Setagaya Hachiman, which included an outdoor Sumo wrestling ring (no shows happening though).
Lunch
We had a very late lunch (around 4pm) in an atmospheric lane in Shimo-Takaido. It was a modern Japanese style cafe, where you order as you enter from a screen, and sit at tables with removable dividers between each place. The food doesn’t look as pretty in my photo as it was tasty. We got back to Ikebukuro, where we are staying, during the evening peak. It’s hard to describe or photograph the thronging mass of people.
