A few highlights from Prague Day 2. We headed down to the Charles Bridge early to beat the crowds, then spent most of the day in the fascinating Jewish quarter. We walked everywhere which is a delight in this beautiful city. Leaving Prague today but we’ll be back at the end of the trip for another few days.
We love the architecture and the little cobbled lanes.
The atmospheric Jewish cemetery.
The gothic Old-New Synagogue. One of the oldest in Europe. Built in 1270.
The Klausen Synagogue is the largest synagogue in the former ghetto and is now the Jewish Museum of Prague.
The stunning Moorish styled Spanish Synagogue, the newest synagogue in Prague (1860s), also now a museum and concert venue.
The Pinkas Synagogue is the second oldest surviving synagogue in Prague. It stands as a memorial to victims of the holocaust.
