We’re going to Africa

Ostia Antica
In Old Dubai

This will be the home of my new blog about our trip to Africa. I have no idea how often I’ll be able to post, but I’ll do my best. We leave on Monday, January 3, and start off with a 3 day stopover in Dubai. Then we will spend 2 weeks on a photo safari in Kenya with Chris Bray (http://www.chrisbray.net/photography_safaris_kenya.php), a week in Tanzania visiting Mike & Katie Taylor (http://www.cms.org.au/missionary/africa/mike-and-katie-taylor), and a week  visiting our friends Owen & Marianne Griffiths who run the La Vanille Crocodile Park in Mauritius (http://www.lavanille-reserve.com/eng/).

This trip has been a long time in the planning, and we are very excited about it. It all started when I did a one day photography course at Taronga Zoo with Chris Bray. I loved his teaching and learned so much about my camera, and when he told me about the Kenya trip I knew I had to go. And the bonus is that our good friends Jan & Rex, from Texas, will be meeting us in Nairobi and joining us for the safari. Then we looked at a map and realised how close Arusha (Tanzania) and Mauritius are to Kenya, well, it would have been silly not to go there!

What is not to look forward to? See you there …

    1. Well, it seemed a bit excessive to say from Kentucky via North Carolina via Texas! (Did I leave anywhere out?) And actually, you are coming from Texas.
